CCS Pads for PC..come on in

Thinking of getting some for myself, as well as Dad for his Bday. Using OP and OC on our Japanese paints. I am thinking of an orange pad, a white pad, and a blue/black. Good plan of action?

Suggestions appreciated!

Thanks

Are you using a rotary or random orbit polisher?

I would reccommend getting the 5" CCS pads from Danase. I have been very impressed with them.

+2 on Danase CCS pads!

Love the small size, they work great with the PC.

Re: CCS Pads for PC..come on in

For the PC..go with the Danase 5" pads....I have had nothing but good luck with them....I have some 6.5 inch CCS pads and i would rather use the 5 inch ones....seems they work and cut faster...no extreme downward pressure to make them work...I just use the machines weight and a little pressure tops and they work...I even use the 5" on the rotary...

If you go 6.5 get the AG ones..the CMA have had a problem with the glue on the backing....

I do not soak my pads..I just spray them with dawn Power Dissolver and let sit for 10 minutes and rinse them off and let air dry....and good the go after....

I hope Danase keeps these pads going..they have worked the best so far on both machines....

I have the yellow, orange ,green ,white, blue, and black...

The yellow is pretty agressive....the orange cuts nice but does leave some haze..the green is my favorite pad..it cuts and gives a nice finish..LSP ready...the white I use for lite swirls and works great..my second best pad....

the blue I use for PO85RD...the black I use for the Menz glaze if I use it....

best pads i have used....my Edge sit now..

Al

Re: CCS Pads for PC..come on in

You guys use the 4" backing plate with the 5" pads correct?

Edit: My bad, I mean 3.5"

Edit 2: Sorry guys, I should read first, then ask. According to Danase website...

"This 3.5" Urethane Backing Plate should be used with the Lake Country Manufacturing 5" pads or the Cyclo 4" pads. It has a thread size of 5/16" x 24 threads. Fits most popular dual actiuon polishers."

I've actually used it with LC's 4.75" backing plate on the PC.

I never really found a bit difference in cut with the yellow instead of the orange.

Re: CCS Pads for PC..come on in

I prefere Orange over yellow since the orange one is made of reticultated foam.
