Easy buff backing plate

anyone try this new megs w66 yet; easy buff backing plate. is it much of a difference or is meant to replace the w64 that been used for so long ? incidently, the backing plate that comes with the makita 9227; what's the major reason for wanting to change that to one of the above.

Which plate comes with the 9227?? I was going to order one next week and thought I would definitely need a new BP.

Um, I'm not 100% sure, but it's either a 7 or 7.5" backing plate and it fits on the wool pads that comes with the Makita. This is for the bundle with the bag.

Re: Easy buff backing plate

the pad that comes with the 9227 is non flexible; its not made out of plastic. i was wondering if that made much of a difference in the end results. i tried it last night and it didn't but then again it was one of my few experiences with the rotary and i was wondering why you guys who use the rotary full time will often switch to one of the mentioned soft backing plates. again, any major differences to converting to a different backing plate than comes with the 9227 ?

Re: Easy buff backing plate

What backing plate do you guys recommend for 6.5" foam pads on a rotary?
