Has anyone used the versatool polisher by Mytee?

I saw this polisher on e-bay and it looks a lot like the cyclo polisher. Does anyone have any experience using it. It seems like a great deal for around $40 including shipping.

Too great a deal I believe. To me it appears to be a cheap knockoff of a very good product but I could certainly be wrong.

That's what I thought. I think I will save up for the cyclo.

Who's to say that it isn't a decent machine though? Has anyone else tried it? It wouldn't be the first time a chinese imitation product was a good buy.

A Biltema is the same I think and it has a stronger motor and variable speed vs. the Cyclo.

Re: Has anyone used the versatool polisher by Mytee?

Autopia member AdamJoe posted the following about the Versatool in 2004....

Quote:
I use the Versa-Tool, which is a cheaper version of the cyclo and the housing is made of plastic instead of steel. It is a little lighter than the cyclo, but probably won't have as long of lifecycle as the cyclo. I am absolutely ecstatic about the results achieved from this machine. It is excelent for polishing and buffing and is easier than a PC to get into tight spaces. And with the right pads, light compounding is easy since it doesnt sling chemical all over the place. The Versa-Tool costs about $50 less than the Cyclo from Rightlook.com, if I'm not mistaken. I would definitely recomend one to anyone if the cost can justify buying one.

Now i'm intrigued, My wife would give me THAT LOOK for a month if I bought the cyclo. She might let it slide for the versatool.

Re: Has anyone used the versatool polisher by Mytee?

^ Yeah I am too. It looks like the machine has been discontinued, all the online shops that use to carry it now carry the Cyclo instead. It wouldn't surprise me if this was an attempt by Cyclo to introduce the machine into the lower pay arena under a different brand name like a lot of companies do with their products. It seems they abandoned it but you can still find some out there.

Re: Has anyone used the versatool polisher by Mytee?

That looks like the one I have. I only detail part time so it is just right for me. The price is pretty good as well. The only problem I had is the power cord in the handle broke, and I had to take it apart. to fix it. I think it was the way I had it stored. I like it other than that. It works just fine.
