Is this the best price for the Makita?

I found it online for $165 + $9.00 shipping at coastal tool.

Makita 9227CX3 Polisher with Polishing Bonus Kit

I was looking for the Hitachi to save some money, but if this one is just as cheap, I will get the makita.

Re: Is this the best price for the Makita?

I think a local friend might have one for sale. Are you interested in a used one?

Re: Is this the best price for the Makita?

Yeah, a used one would work if it's the right price. It would have to be alot lower than the $165 for a new one, or I would just get a new one.

I saw that RCBudda has one for sale, but it's $200 and does not come with anything but the buffer and handles.

I've never seen a new buffer that cheap!! That's a really good deal. Is it a new or is it reconditioned?

Re: Is this the best price for the Makita?

That's a damn good price......

That bag is real handy too. I carry my Makita and my PC in there and still have room for a power cord and a couple of pads.......

Unless the used one is a killer deal, just get a new one.....

Good luck.....and btw, your going to love that rotary......

Re: Is this the best price for the Makita?

I have seen them on eBay for a little cheaper but Coastal Tools is great! I have ordered a bunch of tools and other items from Coastal Tools over the years. They are in CT and I am in Long Island, NY. If I place an order before 3pm I get it the next day every time. Better than braving Their customer service is great and they are very helpful.

Re: Is this the best price for the Makita?

His is a DeWalt DW849 about 3 yrs old used infrequently. No box, manual or bag. But the owner will throw in a free velcro backing plate. $125 shipped FedEx Ground anywhere in the lower 48.

Re: Is this the best price for the Makita?

Thanks anyway Brian, but for $50 more I would just rather have the Makita.

I am excited about this deal. I am checking the local Fastenal company down the road for prices on the Hitachi and Metabo rotarys compared to the Makita.

I'm thinking of moving up to rotary, what are your personal pros/cons of the Makita and Metabo?
