Edge pads to start my rotary adventure?

Ive got a porter cable 7428 that ive been sitting on, while i read up on how to use it. i feel im ready to PRACTICE now, and am wondering what pads to get. i have the edge system on my 7424 and love em - really easy to use. can i use the edge system with the 5/8" spindle on my 7428? or do they have an attachment that will work?
i want to use the edge because of the automatic centering, ease of use, and the contoured foam to keep temps down. does anyone have any objections to these on the rotary, or any other pad suggestions? thanks!
-Matt

I use the Edge system on my rotary. All you need is the Edge rotary adaptor and you will be set. I like the Edge pads on the rotary for the same reasons I like them on they PC.

Re: Edge pads to start my rotary adventure?

You just need 2 adapters .... 1 for PC and one for rotary. The pads fit the same on each adapter.

Most any vendor who sells the Edge 2K pad system will also sell the adapters for both PC and rotary.

you need to call Edge-I'm not sure if they have an adapter for the Griots machine.

Re: Edge pads to start my rotary adventure?

Hey Toast,i use the edge system with both my p/c and my porter cable rotary. The rotary adapter will work on the 7428 . I love how i can go from rotary to p/c in a flash with the quick change adapters and the centering is always perfect. The edge system is a big time saver ,and time is money.

Re: Edge pads to start my rotary adventure?

I would suggest a nice wool pad from edge like the double sided green wool. It is not very aggresive at all. You will love the results. If you detail alot of cars with hard clears, I would also suggest the black wool from edge.
