Is this DeWalt compatible to a PC

I have an opportunity to buy this DeWalt brand new for a good price. I am wanting to know if it's compatible to the PC.
Orbital Sanders, Palm Sanders, Orbit Sanders

Features:
3.0 Amp motor operates at 12,000 opm providing ideal sanding speed for smooth finish
Textured anti-slip top & body grip provides ultimate comfort and control during use
Controlled Finishing System™ maintains pad speed and minimizes gouging during start up
Dust-sealed switch prevents contamination
Sealed 100% ball-bearing construction provides longer life
High capacity dust bag with built in vacuum adapter provides maximum dust collection with or without vacuum
Dual-plane counter-balanced fan reduces user fatigue
Accepts 5", 8-hole hook & loop paper allows sanding discs to be switched back and forth quickly and easily

Any help would be appreciated.

John

No, because it is only one speed rather than variable. A DeWalt that some use instead of a PC brand is the model 443, but you can't swap out different size backing plates:

Re: Is this DeWalt compatible to a PC

With the one speed that it operates at, would it be to powerful or not enough power?

Coupe is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Is this DeWalt compatible to a PC

1 speed
cant use backing plates, therefore cant use pads

Not having enough power would be the least of your problems.

Re: Is this DeWalt compatible to a PC

Wait isnt the orbital radius on that thing going to be much less than the (if I recall correctly) 15/16" radius on the PC and wont that be worse (since you want a bigger radius to exemplify the "randomness") for use on a car's paint?
