Change Polish Or Pad First/ Edge Pads?

Confused a little, lets say i have some swirls and scratches on a panel and a white pad and 106ff is not getting the job done. Should I go up in polish or go up in pad and keep the same polish to remove them?

Also I have heard some rumblings that the orange 6" wave pad is more aggressive then the yellow pad is this true?

Thanx

Re: Change Polish Or Pad First/ Edge Pads?

Always product first IMO
Although going pad first isn't wrong either

Let's say you try a white polish pad with 106FF and that doesn't cut it, I'd switch to a 2000 grit polish (sfx 2) and then move to an orange light cut with that and then prima swirl if still not corrected.

Re: Change Polish Or Pad First/ Edge Pads?

I generally try and go with a stronger polish before a stronger pad. Just personal preference I guess - I've always found softer pads easier to work with, and I feel that a stronger polish will finish down better on a soft pad than a milder polish on a more aggressive pad.

You're using way too soft of a pad for PO106FF. The Edge white foam is their lightest polishing foam. I'd step up to the green or yellow.
