Autogeek and Danase sending mixed signals!

Hey guys, I was on Autogeeks and Danases website looking at some pads,

Autogeek says their green ccs pad is a polishing/finishing pad and Danase says his green ccs pad is a heavy polishing pad, a step up from the white.

I need a pad to apply RMG and was looking for a black finishing pad. On autogeek they have a grey finishing pad, on danase, his finishing pad is blue. The blue pad on autogeek is a finessing pad.

So whos right and whos wrong?

Jim

Re: Autogeek and Danase sending mixed signals!

Also, would I use a white LC pad for application of XMT 360?

Just checked LC's website

Blue - Finishing
Black - Finessing
White -Polishing
Green-Heavy polishing

What is the difference between finishing and finessing? maybe finessing for glazes and finishing for LSP's?

Thanks!

Jim

There is a green pad that is between polishing and light cut and then a green pad that is between polishing and finishing. Hope that helps.

Greg

Re: Autogeek and Danase sending mixed signals!

The Green LC's are actually lighter then the Black ones. Green LC's are finishing/sealant pads. Black could also be a finishing pad, but you can use it for glazes and very light polishing. White is just a different beast altogether, its an entirely different kind of foam. Its actually a relative of the Orange pad.
Maybe its just a terminolgy thing. To me, finishing is, well, finishing as in LSP. Light polishing could mean using a glaze with light abrasives, such as VM.
It takes quite a bit of education/trial and error/experience understanding pads, polishes, which works best with what, and at what speed.

In the CCS pads, the green is a light cut pad. Funny thing is I can finish on the rotary with it on most cars I've tried. The white or blue is called for in some instances.
