NEED HELP!! Have Swirl & Holograms on soft black paint...

Just picked up my new Bimmer from the dealer about 2 weeks ago and already notice the insane swirls but even worst are the buffer holograms (trails) that show up in the sunlight...its hideous.

I'm going to invest in the PC7424 but need advice on what polish/pad combo I should use on this car. Its jet black (non-metallic) and from what I have read the paint is on the soft side so I want to make sure I don't cause any more damage.

I appreciate any help you guys can throw my way...I tried a few searches but nothing really matched up to my particular situation.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks.

Not sure what to recommend on the polish, I like Chemical Guys products myself.

As for the pads, get some Edge 2000 for the PC. They have a kit for $99. The pads work great with the PC and give you all the diffent types you'd need for now and in the future. Autogeek is a good place to look for them.

Re: NEED HELP!! Have Swirl & Holograms on soft black paint...

Pick up some LC (Lake Country) CCS pads, they shoudl take care of you without a problem. Also Menzera products will definitely be what you"re looking for> Many praises on those. Since it's black why not give the new Opti-Seal a shot as well.

Hopefully this help.

You'll find the pad and Opti-Seal from autogeek and just use "autopia" and you'll receive 10% off

Menzerna you can buy from Top of the Line Auto Detailing Supplies and detailersdomain. There are a few sites out there that offers it as well. Just do a search

I got your PM. Sorry, but I don't have a Bimmer at all. I just think that black cars are easy cause you can see what you've done right/wrong as plain as day. Where are you located?

I'm located in CT...one of the worst environments for any car, but I stay on top of my vehicles and keep them clean...just turned in my Audi with 60k and the dealer was amazed how cherry it looked, but it was also a silver car so the black is something new for me and I just a little gun-shy to start breaking out the wheel.

Menzerna...seem to see that a lot on these boards. As for the PC do have anything to worry about when I use it? I mean can i burn the paint like a rotary or is it like waxiing by hand without the elbow grease?

Thanks.

How did you maintain the Audi? There's a member in CT (don't know how close you guys might be) that does superb work. You might have him get it right and then you can take care of it from there.

Maybe you can PM me his info.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Pinnacle XMT package? I noticed on Autogeek they use the pinnacle products in their PC video.

Re: NEED HELP!! Have Swirl & Holograms on soft black paint...

Sample of his work. Jet black 3's are a bit of a pain to polish and usually take a rotary to finish as any other combo that I've tried with the PC/Cyclo/Dynabrade have cause marring.

Yet another recommendation for Menzerna...this stuff must be the answer. Just so I'm clear about the pad you suggested...its a Lake Country White pad (not CCS)?

Is there a more complete waxing system that Menzerna makes or can you recommend something to finish the off or is the FP2 all I need. At this point I have not purchased any product and I would like to just get it right the first time w/o all the experimetation of the 100's of different products out there.

Thanks

either a white flat pad or CCS pad will work
