Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

Would anyone know definitively, the foam on the E2K 4" pads, are these Edge foam or Cyclo foam ?

I've have seen responses to BOTH, and the cut levels from the branded manuf is different.
Could it be Cyclo foam indeed as I don't see any blue E2K 4" foam ?

I am purchasing the E2K 4" pads for my Cyclo and just need to define which pads I get.....depending on their respective cut levels

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

I have both the 4" pads and the 6" pads from Edge and they appear to be made out of the exact same foam.

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

Thx.

What confuses me is that the E2K 4" Green Pad seems to be a light polishing pad whereas on the 6" lineage, the green pad is more of a medium cut pad.

Unless there are typos, the green 4" is equivalent to the Edge 6" Orange, and Vice Versa.

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

This has to be the most confusing Edge topic. It seems that every website I go to has the orange as light cut and green as the medium cut. The response that I got from Aaron at Edge is "Thanks for the email. The AG site is wrong. The orange is the most aggressive pad we make. Soon we will have it on our website but until now it has not been part of our standard line. Orange is a super stiff european foam that cuts more with pressure than pore size. Green is a light cut foam pad." I don't know why all the vendors have it wrong and why they aren't all on the same page. I also don't know if the foam in the Edge 2K 6" is the same and the 2K 4".

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

My understanding is that the 4" green pad is not the same foam as the 6".

When it really comes down to it if you want to know the correct answer (and not just a bunch of guesses or heresay from us) you should send an email to the guys at Edge. They make both pads and I'm sure will be happy to answer your question.

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

damm the orange pad is MORE agressive then the green pad? i was wondering about that when looking at edge's website vs all these vendors..... i hope the vendors fix their websites soon.

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

Foam is Cyclo foam only much thicker so the thickness gives the feel that something about the foam has changed but it hasn't.

So the orange pad is the Cyclo orange pad but now it's twice as thick which gives off the false feeling or impression that the foam is softer, more forgiving, yet it isn't....it's the same.

Re: Edge 4" Pads - Cyclo Foam or Edge Foam

Thanks AO.

I was debating between both and for my needs.....which are not as bad as what you would see as a pro detailer. I picked up a bunch of green, some white, combo green/white and a pair of the orange.

Now it's time to focus on the process and no more products for me ;-)
