foam pad question

Thanks to all on the advice of either staying with a rotary, or switching to a PC. I decided to stay with the rotary(makita 9227). I have never used foam pads on my old rotary, just wool. I would also use 3M machine glaze to buff with, then hand wax with Beats um all. What size foam pads should I be working with, and is there something that works especially well with the foam.

Re: foam pad question

I find the 6.5 inch pads easier to control than 8 inch pads

Re: foam pad question

The small pads are nice but it is what works for the job that matters. I have both the 6.5 and 8 as well as some small 4in pads for the tight places. but it is up to you to find what sive you like best.

Re: foam pad question

I like 5.25-6" for PC.

I hear the 6.5" is a real nice size for the rotary.

Re: foam pad question

I use 4", 5.25", 5.5" and 6" on both rotary and PC.
