foam pad question

Thanks to all on the advice of either staying with a rotary, or switching to a PC. I decided to stay with the rotary(makita 9227). I have never used foam pads on my old rotary, just wool. I would also use 3M machine glaze to buff with, then hand wax with Beats um all. What size foam pads should I be working with, and is there something that works especially well with the foam.

IMO it's personal preference. I usually prefer 6.5" but I sometimes use 7.5" or 4" depending on the job. You'll just have to see which you like best. Maybe you oughta start out with the same size you use in wool
