What size wrench for Makita 9227?

Hey fellas, I'm hoping someone could answer me quickly since I'm going to head to the store to look for it, but does anyone know what size wrench fits the spindle thread base so I can securely tighten my backing plate?

The largest I have in my tool box is 3/4" but it's a really snug fit and the tool's height is a bit too high for me to screw on the backing plate all the way to the bottom without removing the wrench.

True use black button and hold 9227 in between legs if needed.

Thanks for the help guys. I read the instruction book but the info about the spindle lock was a bit vague. Or I'm just an idiot who can't read.

"just make sure it is not plugged in power outlet so there is no unplanned gender change " as Larry the Cable Guy would say - now that's funny, I don't care who you are, that's funny! Thanks for the laugh, needed it today.

Glad to be of help! Actually, that's not what I first wanted to say, I wanted to say "unplanned polishing" but I thought not anybody would find that joke OK.
