Pads and Polish for this job PICS

I was thinking the Poorboys line of SSR polish but I have no idea what pads to use.

The date is wrong of course. Oh it is a 2000 SS Camaro..

SSR2.5 on a polishing pad should take care of that
follow with SSR1 on a finishing pad if needed

So I want a "-Green Dual Purpose Foam (Coumpounds & Polishes)" and a "-Blue Final Finishing Foam (Final Step Waxes & Sealants)" pads?

You may need a cutting pad to start, I've done a few Camaros and they all have rock hard paint. I had to use Optimum Hyper Compound and LC yellow cutting pads to bust the swirls.

hmm that is not going to be to harsh on my car? Should I then use a finishing pad with SSR1 after the compound?

Agreed. Take your time and crank your PC up to #6. If you don't have pads now Autogeek and Danase have an array of pads. I wouldn't use a cutting pad with SSR2.5. A polishing pad is all you'd need (unless the paint is super hard but still a polishing pad should work). Do not prime the pad with anything but SSR2.5. Apply a thin bead around the pad and work it in until it goes clear. If the product builds up on the pad, either brush it off or wipe it off with a terry towel. Follow up with SSR1 with a finishing or polishing pad. Then go to your favorite LSP.

Yeah, I don't have any pads so I don't want to waste any money on stuff I don't need. I don't want to end up buying 6 pads trying to see what works best.

it's not a matter of what works the best
they all have there place!

if i were you I would buy 1 cut, 2 polish & 1 finish pad
this will give you a good start on the pad selection

I just did the 6 pack at Danase I wanted 8.5 pads right?. Also, got SSR 2.5 and SSR 1. That should do it? Oh where can I pick up a PC in town?

No 8.5" is too large for the PC to work at removing defects
call Bob he will take care of you

IT is going to be hard to find the PC in town
lowes has been clearing them out(if they have one you caould get a great price)
do you have a woodworking store near you?

did you order a backing plate?

Go to Danase.com, click on the clearkote $44.99 package, option it with the vanilla moose, then go to lake country pads, ccs pads, then pick 1 yellow, 2 org, 2 wht, and 1 blue or gray (your choice, they're both finishing pads). Also register at danase.com for a discount.

Bob at Danase also sells the SSR 2.5, so I'd pick up one 16oz bottle of that so you have 2 ways of cutting out those swirls (the clearkote compound and the SSR 2.5).

Oh yeah, you'll need a 5" backing plate for the 5.25" ccs pads.

So you have the following options then:
SSR 2.5 with yellow/org pad or Clearkote Compound with yellow/org pad
Follow that up with Clearkote VM with a white polishing pad
Then finish with the blue pad and Clearkote Carnauba moose wax (makes reds...RED!)
Maintain shine after every wash with Clearkote quik shine

The Clearkote Cmpnd, VM, CMW, and QS all come in that smokin deal of a $45 package.

I still need a PC. Should I just go with the package deal for 215.00? It is 4 star polish, don't know how good that stuff is.
