Metabo group buy?

What are the chances that we can get a "Group Buy" on Metabo polishers? Are there any people out there who would be interested?
If it can't be set up through Utopia I would take a swing at getting a great deal if any are interested. But I would have to have numbers before starting the process. Well?

Re: Metabo group buy?

I'm interested. I can get it for $230 shipped though, so it would have to be broken down to less than that.

I would say about $200-220 shipped and I'd be interested also. Been eyeing a Metabo polisher for about 2-mos. It looks to be the best-of-the-best rotaries if you like light weight at around <5lbs (Metabo factory quote).

Otherwise I will wait another year or two and use my PC and hope prices drop.

Who has them for that price? I looked at one and it was $300+ (IIRC) and haven't looked since then.

Well Change, I think the logistics of arranging this would be a nightmare (collecting money, etc.), but if you can save us a few $$$ I'll go in on the buy...... I've been looking at the darn things for over two years now.

Having been a part of a few group buys over the internet, its not really that much of a problem. The main part is finding a vendor willing to do the deal. Usually how it works is the vendor stipulates up front the cost if we can get X amount of people. So for example, he might say if we get 10 people the cost is $220, if we get 20 is $200, etc. The vendor would set a start and end date for the deal and anyone interested would then commit and at the end of the deal you simply pay the vendor however they prefer.

Usually goes something like that, and its not much of a problem once you find a vendor willing to cooperate.

That is pretty much what I figured. All I needed was a number to throw at the Vendor to see if he is interested. After all, something is better than nothing, not to mention that vender's usually get some type of kickback if they sell over "X" amount units of merchandise.
I'll give this post another day or two and see what kind of numbers we can start with when contacting the merchants.

In my experience, it usually works better once you've worked something out with a vendor. That is, figure out what kind of deal you can get. Then go to the group and say, "This is the deal we can get if we get this many people."

Once people know what they're looking at they're more than likely to commit.
