Videos of Proper Rotary Technigues

Check out the 2 videos on compound buffing(XP Syntheticut) & swirl removal (XP Swirl Remover). It shows some really good buffing techniques as well as rational for certain types of products. Some experienced and not experienced buffers could learn some valueable things.

You don't want to do that. Leave it wet and you avoid swirls. Dry = Swirls.

Re: Videos of Proper Rotary Technigues

is that how fast you guys work with a rotary? I am moving a lot slower when using mine....maybe that is why people are getting three full details in on one day while I am getting only one....????????

Re: Videos of Proper Rotary Technigues

DavidB has a link to the Meguiar's rotary video which is awesome. It is like 30 minutes of video that takes you through washing, prepping, compounding, polishing, wet sanding, etc...

Click on the links on the right hand side. You need Real Player. It only works for me in IE and not FireFox. http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-a...o.html?garpg=2

Re: Videos of Proper Rotary Technigues

There is a fine line between "the polish going clear" (but still wet) vs. dry buffing. Besides, polishes behave differently. When a polish goes clear, it won't be totally transparent, just translucent. It does mean that it will be clearer than the milky state you begun with.

OPS is almost invisible at all times. There are materials that seem to "disappear" from the surface or "melt into" the surface.

Never mind, just be sure that a wet polishing film is always present between your pad and the surface. Dry buffing causes swirls - that's absolutely true.

Re: Videos of Proper Rotary Technigues

Auto Magic is the main product in my arsenal that I use on all my details. I've learned to use their products to their fullest potential and love them. Plus there is a distributor about 5 miles from my house
