Porter cable rotating very slow under load, shop says they dont see a problem.

My pc 7424 spins fine when it isnt pressed up against something but the minute I place it down on a surface it will slow down enough where I could grab the pad and stop the rotating. At first I thought it was spinning so fast that it looked like it was barely moving, like some rims do, but once I noticed the polishes that I was applying not doing a damn thing I grabbed it and the pad stop while the motor was still chugging away. I brought it to the shop and they called me the next day saying that they dont see a problem and it is impossible for the motor to keep turning and the pad to be stopped
Anybody have an idea?
