dual action polisher quistion?

when detailing a car if it has micro scratches first i ve been useing the green foam pad then the blue. if that doesnt take them out should i go to the yellow agressive pad and compound then follow it up with green and polish? or should i go with the green and compound first? and leave the yellow only if it really needs it? thanks .

Yeah, I agree. Noting that I'm not familiar with the pads in question (but can assume that they go aggressive-to-mild from yellow to green to blue), I'd increase the aggressiveness of the product rather than go to a very aggressive pad. I use the least aggressive cutting/polishing pads that'll do the job and rely on the product for the cut. An aggressive pad is likely to *instill* micromarring (as can the initial bite of some products, so you gotta get both sides of the combo right ).
