trouble with PC

OK i tried out my PC 2 days ago on one panel(only 1 cause the sun was out too much and i think it was dring the polish too quickly)and today i went out and got 2 500w halogen lights on a 6' stand and was using them too look at my paint.amazingly it looks pretty good,not as swirled as i thought but i see VERY light swirl marks that i think is from the PC.its too perfectly circular to be anything else and it wasnt there before.sorry i have no pics,my camra is being stubbern.could it be from not using enough polish?i was using a Sonus swirlbuster pad w/swirlbuster polish.i also found out(from another member)that i wasnt working it long enough.he said at least 3-5 minutes and i polished no longer than a minute.also i used CG extreme sealant after so i plan on giving it another try sometime this week,is there anything i need to do to strip the sealant or will the polish be enough to break thru and remove the swirles and maring?and IYO what is a better polish,OP,SSR1 os SSR2?Yes i have searched and ive been reading all the post to learn as much as i can.sorry for the long post.

you need to work in the polish with a slow arm movement, good amount of pressure with overlapping passes in different directions (side to side/ top to bottom/horizontal) and sometimes it may take a few passes. people these days sometimes expect a quick miracle product, when most of the time the product is not being used to it's proper potential...

I doubt that. Swirlbuster was developed as a final polish- sure there are some finer polishes available. I've used an orange pad with ZPC without issue-so again even tho there are finer pads available that may not be the issue. It might have been a case of not working the product long enough. Work it longer and if that doesn't solve the issue then move to a softer pad. Then a finer polish.

Cant just stop after using a cutting pad and an aggressive polish.
What your seeing is micro marring, gotta hit it with a polishing pad now with a medium cut polish, then hit it with a finishing pad and fine polish.

The Swirlbuster should remove the sealant OK. If you want you can always do a quick wipe-down with a 50/50 IPA mix (50% rubbing alcohol and 50% water).

Since you aren't very familiar with this polish yet here is a tip: try working a small area with the polish for different amounts of time, and examine that section with your halogens until you discover the best "working time" that leaves the best finish. That will give you a better feel for how the polish appears when it is properly broken down, but not worked until dry. This is basically the info that blkyukon gave you in this post.

I haven't tried my Swirlbuster combo yet, but I agree with wannafbody that it was developed as a final polish. It also seems that other members have reported using it with good results, but I'm not sure if they inspected it with halogen lights like you did. It might be possible that on *your* paint you will need to step down to a lighter pad as others have mentioned. I don't think you want to use another polish because that will compromise the filling properties of the Swirlbuster Polish.

I like them all, but OP is hard to beat for a new user because it is so versatile (can use it with different pads to get more/less cut), it has a very long working time, and doesn't dust.

As you have discovered the key is to inspect after you finish a polish step so you can correct any problems before you finish and wax/seal the whole car.... and then have to go back and redo it again.

Take your time, be patient, and you'll learn how the products you have will work to give you the best results.

^^^thanks for all the help.i plan to do it at night w/the halogens to better see my progress and i do think i didnt polish long enough and next time ill follow up w/the 3M glaze and a blue pad (sonus set)
