Edge yellow vs Megs burgundy...

on a rotary. I decided to day to reattempt to reduce lots of etching on my hood. I first tried the Megs burgundy pad with OHC as many feel it's a very aggressive pad. It worked well and was easy to control but didn't seem all that aggressive. I switched to the Edge yellow and immediately could tell a difference. The larger pore pattern of the yellow cutting pad resulted in slighly more bite. The rotary was now harder to get to glide over the paint. Also I was able to haze the paint with the yellow pad and Megs pad didn't do that. The Megs burgundy will provide a better finish but the Edge yellow definitely cuts more. I feel as if the majority of the cut was provided by the pads vs the OHC.

The yellow Edge pad is my favorite. I use it on just about everl car. You can get alot of result from using a less aggressive chemical like Megs #80 with it and not get any marring. I have one yellow pad that has been used almost daily for 4 months with no failures!

Do you have an Edge green pad? If not I'd suggest getting one. IMO it can be used as a one step pad with a mild product.
