PC 7424 - questions

Hi everybody!
Today I received my PC 7424...so, here the questions:
-its came with 5" counter weight. I'm gonna buy 6.5" LC or Wolfgang pads...does I have to buy 6" counter weight too?
-Does I have to buy anything else in order to use 6.5"pads?
Thanks in advance.

I think it depends on your backing plate. I think the backing plate and counterweight should be the same. With 6.5" pads, 5 and 6 inch plates and counterweights seem popular.

I wouldn't say it's *necessary* as plenty of people swear they can't tell the difference, but *I* use a 6" counterweight with every size backing plate and pad (even the 4" ones).

Note that the counterweights are designed to go with a backing plate that has a single sheet of sandpaper on it. Any foam pad, let alone wet with product, is gonna weigh more than a piece of sandpaper.

Counterweights are cheap and easily changed. The pn for the 6" counterweight was 699933 the last time I ordered one. I got mine from PC at (888) 848-5175 but you can find them other places too.

Thanks for replys.
I am pretty new to PC detailing...so one more simple question.
My PC came with white foam pad, like on this picture: http://www.porter-cable.com/index.asp?e=547&p=2805
How to attach Lake Country pad to my PC? Does I have to buy baking plate?

Yep, you need to buy a backing plate (will have velcro to attach the pad) or buy the Edge 2k kit.

You'll be ok with the counterweight that comes stock with the PC.
