Compare the cost of buying the PC, backing plate and pads all seperately, to the cost of buying a kit with all included. A kit has 1 shipping cost, less shipping equals more and better product for the money. I bought the 7424 kit here from Autopia for less then $200 with free shipping.

The PC probably has the best value for the money. You can do a lot with the PC, and later learn how to use a rotary.
Rotaries can be purchased for about half what you will pay for the PC, and most likely will have similar features to the $200+ models out there. By the time the POS rotary I have breaks, for example, I should have enough moolah to buy the Matabo that I really want.

depends on what youre working with. or you can just set the speed to 5 or 6 and let it do its magic.
