What to follow DACP, when using SFX pad kit?

All I have is DACP and the SFX pad kit in the polishing dept. I'm wondering if I NEED to follow DACP with a finer polish or can I get away with using the yellow pad and moderate presure, then bump down to the white pad, then the blue all with DACP and still get a great finish?

Is that even possible, or do I definitely need some 2nd or 3rd step product?

I was planning on using NXT as my LSP, but have a 3M fine swirl mark remover that I thought might hold me over until I get another light polish in my hands? I also have #82, which I didn't realize how less abrasive it is compared to #83.

Also, what is the difference between SFX and DAS pad kits? The pad chart on here that I found has them both listed as the same basically?

I would follow with a finer polish. Some dont need to but you wont know till you try it. So its a good idea to at least have some on hand just in case you need it.
You can follow it up with the 3m but since you have #82 definately use that. Thats a combo i have for quite a while. I always use #83 followed by #82 or #80, just depends on the vehicle im doing.

Yes, you MUST follow DACP with a finer polish. The visible difference might be minimal on white, but there will be a difference. And on darker colors, the differnce will be huge - DACP is a light compound with plenty of bite for sure.

Sometimes you can get DACP to finish down good enough to go to an LSP, but for the best results a polish like #80 with a white pad will give you the best results. I like to follow that with either VM or RMG before going to my LSP.

It's will be on a Silver Honda Prelude, so I figured I had at least some leaway with that. VM and RMG? Vanilla Moose and what? I wish the secret decoder was up to date.

I can pick up #80 locally so I can always grab that if need be. I'm just hesitant to use more meguirs stuff because I'm finding the #83 to be tought to work with on my PC. I'm going to try to get another practice session in today and see if I can figure that stuff out.

Some have had trouble withn DACP, but I've found it to work pretty easy. The #80 is very easy to work with and you'll like it a lot. Scottwax recommends it highly and I followed his advice and it's worked great. I've been doing a little testing lately and just used some Optimum Hyper Compound and found it to work even easier than the DACP. I'll also be trying their Optimum Compound here soon. The RMG is Clearkotes Red Machine Glaze and works very well on reds or any dark colors. For silver I would stick to Vanilla Moose hand glaze though as it seems to be a better all round polish for that finishing touch.

#80 is my favorite Meguiars Polish, It will produce amazing results when the proper technique is used. Go right with the Yellow Meguiars pad at around 5, It leaves a beautiful surface after #83 that will allow you to go right to your LSP. I did this exact combo about 2 days ago..I did a spare hood from a junkyard with this combo except on a rotary for practice and it turned out beautiful.

What about #7, show car car glaze? I found some of that laying around tonight? Anyone use that with good results on the pc?

I agree with most of the earlier posters. One of my "winnings combos" on my paints is #83 (DACP) followed up with #80 or #82 dependings on just how much micro marring is left behind with #80.

#7 is a fabulous polish, but it a pure polish in that it won't take out marring left behind. It is designed to give that final POP to paint.
