Using the same pad in one detail?

I want to set out and detail my car but I had a few lingering questions. I currently have four pads. 1 Orange 2 Green and 1 Grey. My process is going to be SSR2.5 > SSR1 > PB EX-P > Natty's Blue. I was just wondering if I could use SSR2.5 and SSR1 on the same pad without washing? And if I do need to wash them, can I just rinse of the SSR2.5 and then immediately apply the SSR1 and go at it ??

If you start with SSR1 and *then* want to bump it up to SSR2.5, you can use the same pad, but not the other way around. Also, as long as you clean the pad thoroughly...yes, you can use it again.

Yeah you can use pads for other polishes, but only after a good washing. I find it good to have a decent selection before starting, sometimes a pad gets to gummed up to do a whole car, i like to use 2.

Sure, give it a quick spin on the PC with your other palm holding pressure to it. Never let it free spin.

Very true! I also let it spin into a clean bucket.

I dont understand why you havta clean pad if you go from 2.5 to 1. If the 2.5 breaks down to a fine polish then why do you havta clean it before using 1?

well, it should break down, but you can't be 100% sure it did on the middle, or the edges. If it didn't breakdown, then what would be the point of usinig a finer polish?

To be sure, just rinse the pad, it's better than doing a few panels and not getting what you want.
