Amazon 7424 + pads kit

Hi all, I've decided to purchase a PC and it's all a bit confusing! I found this on Amazon, it includes a bunch of pads but I don't know if these are good ones or not: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...nce&n=15684181.

Should I just get the 7424 and then get pads somewhere else separately? Do I need a different backing plate or something? Thanks everybody!

For that price, I'd get a kit from a more reputable detailing website such as AutoGeek. There's been several reports on Amazon PC's being dead on arrival.

Plus, it looks like the same kit that AG has on their website, but it's $10 cheaper and then you add in the Autopia discount

OK thanks... I found this http://www.autogeek.net/hk7424.html. What polish would you recommend for a black car?

Wait, how do I get the Autopia discount?

If oyu want one polish, try Optiumum, depending on which pad you use it can be aggressive or final polish. It is user freidnly as well, lots of lubes so it won't dry out that quick on you compared to most.

Send a message via AIM to CelicaLover
or try the four star swirl remover polish it can be either a moderate polish or a fine polish depending on the pad and as it works it lessens in strength making for a nice smooth clear finish

So what is the "hook and loop" backing plates, and do I need to get one? If I purchase a "kit" with all the pads, is that a waste if I end up going to a different backing plate?

Sorry for all the questions everybody So, how does one get the autopia discount at Autogeek?

Hook and Loop just means velcro (so, you can switch pads really quickly).

I don't think the AUTOPIA discount works for PC Kits, but for other products, before you submit your order, there is a little place to put your promotional code, etc. and apply the discount to your total price.

What I recommend you do is order the same kit from Wolfgangcarcare.net (they are the same company as autogeek, just under a different name).

Link here:
http://www.wolfgangcarcare.com/porte...-polisher.html

They have free shipping right now for orders over $75, so that will save you $20 right there.

The only thing I would add to that order is a 6.5" yellow cutting pad and maybe an extra 6.5" orange light cutting pad. Everything else you need is in that kit!

Hmm, learn something new every day. However, why the $10 price difference? Amazon fee?
