low priced glazing/waxing pads?? (rotary)

I've been using 3M black foam waffle polishing pads at work sometimes to apply glaze. Works pretty good, but they get gummed up sometimes. Once you use glaze with these pads they don't really wash properly, so you can't use them for SMR anymore with is their designed use...

I'm wondering what I can use to apply glaze that is easy to use (ie no marring/hazing) and inexpensive. The 3M pads are $30 for a set of 2 (my discounted cost), so something cheaper and available to find easily.

The Meguiar's pads are the only others I know of available locally. Online, LCM pads are about $10 a pop.

Is there really any bennefit to putting glaze on by machine? Cause I know you can get 3M machine glaze, 3M PF-3000 Glaze (hand or machine), 3M Imperial Hand glaze

ADS is selling the 8" megs pads for like 54 for 6. The 6" pads are 50 for 6 I think. I can't vouch for the Megs pads (I'm a Lake Country guy) but I would bet they're pretty decent.

on your first post you mentioned your pad gums up it could be a few things, to much product, plus your not cleaning your pad after ever panel or when it look like it loaded.. also it help to have more then one pad remember with some products aslong as you clean it the best you could that good some pruct stain pads just like if you were to work on a single stage paint......that is why i recommend the pads i did plus you wont have to worry about velcro separtion or centering pads,better durabilty i know you didnt mention just thought i add that.....although i have used 3m pads one or twice with a freind.....the pads i did recommend cleans up very nicely plus it depends on how you clean them=technique just like in anything.....plus these pads are less expensive then your hook up....

i think this a question for the eye of the beholder? "You"
whenever i want to try something i test spot on a car specficlly on a hood or trunk others may do a roof.....this way i can pull it out in to the sun and look at it in all angles....

in my opinion i dont see a diff but this is a test spot....i normally just use a pc much faster and apply thinnest possible for easy removal and your hand is less fatigued then by hand plus if done by hand you may not as be consistence again im not saying you because i dont know your work but just put some ideas out there....out of those three product i think it pretty self explanatory...good luck
