What am i doing wrong?

I polished my friends 04 acura rsx and it took me more then 12 hours to do just SSR2.5 polish. What was i doing wrong? My pads velcro was wearing off because i had 5" backign pad and 6" pads and it was kind of bending. COuld that be the problem? I didnt even have time to go over with a lighter polish.

I ordered some 6.5" LC pads and a 6" backing plate thinking it might solve the problem. I ruined 3 pads with the 5" backing plate.

In an effort to get the pad to stop vibrating, you might have been pushing too hard.

You did the right thing in getting the correct pad/backing plates.

There are a lot of different variables on what can go wrong. Take a look around, as there are several instructional PC videos that are helpful.

I know there is a board member here that shows how to use the Menzerna/PC on a black Tahoe/Suburban and Meguiar's Online also has videos that are helpful.

OMG! 12 hours? There's hardly any paint on an RSX...it's all windshield, sunroof, and glass hatch. How many times did you go over the car? What kind of defects were you trying to remove? Did they come out? How much SSR2.5 did you use?
