Do orange cutting pads leave micromarring like the Yellow medium cut pads?

hm I though the whole idea is that they should not unless you are using them wrong way ?
First time I used orange I didn't do anything to the paint - did not remove scraches and did not add any - my technice was wrong

I don't usually get much micromarring with my Propel yellow or orange pads.

The orange Excel Propel pads on a PC with OP at 6 are great and leave no marring so far even on dark cars, haven't done a black car yet. With PB 2.5, it leaves some marring maybe, but not too bad. The yellow pad I'm not real comfortable with so far. It leaves a little marring (maybe) and the pad and polisher moves around a lot for me on speeds above 5. But maybe I just need more time with it.

For tough to get swirls and imperfection, I am gonna try the Optimum Hyper Compound. I have heard it works pretty good and I am thinking it will do the trick on stubborn swirls with the orange pad.

Has any one ever tried using PB2.5 and OP polish combined to reduce dusting. I was also thinking of mixing OP polish and Hyper compound to get something in the middle. I really like OP polish so far as a little goes a long way and you can work it a long time. I also like Megs speed glaze too.

I've had great luck with the orange power pads (basically a LC CP pad) sold by properautocare.com and Menzerna FPII used on a PC for final swirl removal.

Hmmmmm........i know of some who also have the proper technique and evade any MM. I, on the other hand, always follow up with a less aggressive combo, like a lite cut pad and Opt Pol or SSR 2. Ive never really tried to finish up with the heavier type of pad, like the orange.

Patrick-thanks for the honest answer- I have some Nikota pads which seem to knock out the swirls pretty easily but seem to leave some micromarring-I'll just use them for now and follow up with a softer polishing pad.

Forgot to mention - I've been using the larger 7.5" pads on the PC which probably helped to slow the machine down somewhat compared to using the smaller pads.

Wouldn't that give you something close to Opt Compound?
