Rotary Pad Selection Help

Heya guys,
Tommorrow I am going to Polish out my 1994 Black Mustang, some of you may have seen it on the former click n' brag. Over 2 years it has collected a lot of swirls, unfortuantly with my new job I had to rely on touchless carwashes. eeks! Below the products are what I intend to use. I am wondering what Meguiar's pad's best with my makita 9227.

Makita Rotary 9227 applied DACP ( what meguiar's pad do I use? ) I was planning on 750 RPM and keep the pad flat and moving. Should I go a little bit faster? I know anything over 1500 is basically clear coat suicide.

Try the yellow polishing pad first-that should remove most swirls

That is so not true - not only that, but dacp may not even break down at 750rpm

Don't move too fast. Everything depends on how hard the clear coat is and how deep the swirls are.

BTW, dacp is an excellent product. you'll like it, however you may need something stronger or go higher rpm. Good luck

Yeah, you'll have to turn the "volume" up a bit. 1200 is completely safe (actually, so is 1800+ with a 6.5" pad). But since your new - hang out arount the 1200 range. And the yellow Megs bad will due. The Propel Blue pads are a bit more flexible and easier to use, but since you have the Meguairs pads, the yellow will due (you'd have a real hard time with their burgandy pad on a rotary). And don't be afraid to apply a little pressure to the pad...you can lighten up on your last pass or two to leave a perfect finish. Actually, you'll want to finish with something less agressive to prevent leaving halograms - #9 is great via rotary!
