PC cutting out

ok guys, i have had my PC for a year now and i have not done an amazing amount of details, so i was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem,

sometimes when i turn it on, it will not start and then it will start, kind of like a delayed reaction. i have noticed that in certain positions it is ok, and in others it tends to cut in and out. this can be quite frustrating,

i have noticed that if i hold the chord connected to the back of the machine it does not sputter or cut in and out. there have been a few times when the extension chord has been stuck by a tire and i did not notice, therefore i am walking with the machine and the chord gets disconnected. you think there might be a loose connection ??

has anyone opened up their PC ??

Yes I think there may be a loose connection. Are you saying that the cord has come disconnected from the machine? Or just disconnected from the power outlet?

itll be either the plug went bad or it burned out at the connection at the machine.....easy either way....if its the plug buy an OUTDOOR plug and cut the old one off and replace it or if its the connection than open up the machine and cut off bout 2 inches and reconnect it. and be more carefull with your machines from now forward

it has come disconnected from the extension chord,

i may have my dad open it up and check it out.
i only see one screw in the machine, any tips on disassembly ?

I had to open up mine and reattach the wiring inside. Easy job. Common problem.

if opening it doesnt solve the problem just cut the plug off (with bout 3 inches of cord) and replace the plug.

I was suggested by someone two extend my pc cord from standard to 50' any brands or names and were to pick them up and pricing...thanks

also how hard is it to open and remove and replace the cord....

ok, when i would move the chord near the rear of the machine, it would cut in and out, almost with whatever movement i would do.

so last night my dad and i opened it up and checked it out, found it losing continuity in one section of the chord. it was where the chord comes out of the "extra" chord cover directly at the rear of the machine.

so, we cut the connectors about 2 inches into the wire, then cut the "bad" section of chord. upon inspection that section, we found the copper wiring inside of the black wire frayed almost all the way through.

so we soldered the connectors to the end of the chord, wrapped it with some of the wire insulator, taped it up with electrical tape and reinstalled,

now there is no loss of power. moral of the story is, be careful with the PC chord, bending or wrapping it up for storage and make sure you have plenty of slack on the chord and extension !!

Geez, where was this guy when you needed him!?
