Help Using VM

I tried VM for the first time today and was wondering how much do you use to load the pad then how much do you use to use to replenish it once it has been saturated? Also, is VM safe to use on paint once every month ( with a polishing Pad)? This is for paint that is new to polishing.

Also you have any tips when using VM?

Thanks

Hamilton

I just lay down a thin circle of product about a 1/2" from the edge of the pad and the first couple of passes, I move the pad around on the paint before turning on the PC. Once the pad it primed, it takes very little product per panel. Go light and you can see after a few times how large an area you can do with how much you put on the pad. VM seems to work best with the PC on 5-6.

The abrasives are very light, so once a month would be fine if you feel you really need to polish that much.

Agreed, I probably use more then i need to but due to its ease in removal, im ok with it.....I usually hit the pad dime sized, at 12, 3, 6 and 9 oclock patterns, then like Scott, smear it around the panel im treating. I always use a Blue pad....an occasional drop or two just to keep it visible is really all you need.....

Yeah the abrasives in VM are nothing to worry about. You can use it quite often with no ill effects.

I prefer to use VM by hand since it's so thin. I feel that too much product gets absorbed (wasted) into the pad. I also have had slinging problems with VM when using it with the PC.
