I can't wait to give it a try. One question though. I've heard mention of this tool having a 5 year warranty, but my warranty registration card states there is only a one year warranty. What gives? No other paperwork in the box makes mention of the warranty coverage. Is it really 5 years?

i too was concerned about this as my warranty card states one year...i purchased my through coastal tools....i went to the hitachi website and if i remeber correct and read it right it extends the one year to five years although i have not confirmed it with but i am sure i am right....a buddy of mine purchased one from somewhere else and his has a one year warranty card...keep us updated
the five year warranty is what make this tool complete

I have no idea why the price has dropped so drastically, but it is the reason why I've considered buying one recently. Even though I have two already. Including the M12 (Metabo). Could've bought 3 Hitachi's for that price.

Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Cali (Westcoast) Posts: 468 | TnM6i- i found out the warranty cards are super old... i thinksince feb2003 the started the 5year warranty so if anyone has a one year old card they are covered for five years as long as you bought your after that date...check the hitachi site for details
has anyone found out why the lower price...i know i read on one of the vendor website the owner from that website meet with the hitachi officials and agreed on a specail price and deal...im just hoping there not drop it or there is something new and better like the metabo when they redisgned the rotary
by the way lets see how long have you had your hitachi and have you had to use the warranty for anything
