How do I get NXT wax out of a pad?

Disclaimer: I'm new to the machine polishing world.

That being said, I used the wrong pad (Sonus blue) to apply NXT Tech Wax to my son's '04 Jetta

but it still turned out very nicely.

Now that I realize the error of my ways, how do I remove the NXT from the pad? I've soaked it in Dawn dishwashing soap for a couple of hours but there's till wax in it.

I'd really like to get it cleaned so I can use it as a finishing pad and buy the proper waxing pad for use in the future.

I hand wash my pads with tide neading and squeezing. Polish and compounds come out very easily, but waxes are in my experience much harder to remove and take more work. Takes forever for me to get #26 out of my finishing pad. just need to keep working it untill its all out.

I've use those pads for application, they work fine.

I use a good APC. Experiment with Meguiar's, Simple Green, Orange Blast, or even Mr Clean or Lysol. One of those works really well, but I forget which one.

That's what I mean when I say that the SHINE of NXT might fade, but it's a real SOB to get off of stuff even when you're trying to remove it. #21 is the same way.

i have the sonus blue.. i normally pop into the washer along with my other detailing mf towels and stuff and be sure not to add anything but liquid detergent and it works for me..

depending on how stained the pad is, i may or may not hand wash it

If the inability of a sealant to be removed from a pad was an indicator of durability, my list would look this.

Anyways, I have found that murphy's oil soap straight onto the pad, then squeeze a few times, then rinse works very well at removing NXT.

I use Dawn Dish soap... let it soap then if needed apply some dawn directly to the pad and rub it in and rinse VERY well. I can usually get all the wax out using that process.

I'd say that looks reasonable, and in line with my experience of how they behave on the car.
