Input needed on SSR2.5 & 3M PI II RC

Long time Lurker. I've been able to use the search function to get most of my answers, but this one got me stumped....

I'm using PC 7424 to get rid of some water spots etched on to the paint.

I tried the following combination to see which is more effective.

* 3M Perfect-It II RC with Wolfgang yellow cutting pad as well as LC orange pad.
* Poor Boys SSR2.5 with Wolfgang yellow cutting pad as well as LC orange pad.

It seems that SSR2.5 with LC orange pad cuts more than the WG yellow pad. Am I doing something wrong?

Does the SSR2.5 have more cutting power than 3M PI II RC? Has anyone used both that can give more input? Also, it seems that LC orange pad cuts more than the WG yellow pad.

Also, what is the recommended speed with using the SSR2.5 compound?

TIA,
Brian

I'm not sure about the other questions, but I can tell you that I use SSR2.5 on 5 or 6. I generally don't use any polishes at speeds lower than that.

SSR 2.5 with cutting pad speed 6 works well, might need a second application . Follow with ssr 2.5 or 1 with polishing pad.
