revitalize

i've got a dark blue car which i polished with a 7424 and a cutting pad with #83, followed up with a medium pad with #9, and then finished with a finishing pad and nxt back in october. in january i added another coat of nxt and then topped it with meguiar's #16.

i'm seeing some visible swirls again, although they aren't very noticeable at all. i would still like to go ahead and revitalize the paint again though, that way it can stay looking in tip top shape. the only step i KNOW to do is the nxt and #16 - the swirl removing part i don't really know.

firstly, should i clay the car? and since i know i don't need the cutting power of the #83 and the cutting pad, i was thinking of either using #9 with a cutting pad or using #83 with a medium pad, and then putting the nxt back on it. i also have some menzerna (the heavier stuff) that i could also use in place of the #9 or #83. what do you guys think? thanks!

Cool

I would definitely start by washing and claying.

Depending on the severity of the swirls you might try the #83 with a polishing pad.

I don’t find that the #9 does much cutting with a PC so the swirls would have to be pretty light for it to work. It couldn’t hurt to try. I usually use a rotary with #9.

Haven't used Menzerna myself so I can't help there.

I would try #80 with a polishing pad.

PC.
