PC Problems

Well today the PC started making a horrid noise, which I believe is the bearings. It just starts sounding like there are balls floating around in it. Anyways, does anyone know if Portercable would honour their warrenty? Plus, I wonder if I'd have to send it to them, I can't afford to be without a PC for a week or two.

If it's at all possible, save up for a rotary. You seem to be doing enough work to warrant a real professional machine.

That's my opinion, atleast. The PC just started pissing me off because of how slow it was. Many members polish exclusively with their rotaries.

See if there is a Porter-Cable dealer in your area. Their tools are pretty common, and I've got two in my local area. The dealer should be able to take a look at the tool, and if it's not a major repair, they should be able to fix it in a short period of time.

As far as affording a cyclo, try raising your prices . I've seen your posts on your work, and you could easily charge twice what you do (I would have gotten about 160US for the jetta, and I highly doubt my result would have been any better).

Buick_guy1 - You might be surprised how long it'll keep working (and working just fine) even with the noisy bearings. But since you probably don't want to gamble on that, I'd contact a PC dealer/repair place and talk with them about your dilema. They might be able to help you out more than you would expect.

Note that one of the advantages to paying more at a vendor like TOL/Meg's/Griot's is that you can get exchanges worked out so you don't suffer downtime

MongooseGA- *I* sure wouldn't want to try doing it all with just a rotary!

I don't have insurance, so no rotary for me.

Well, I got a new PC yesterday, they didn't even look to see that the old one was used.

Hey, that's great news! Glad to hear you didn't suffer any serious down-time.

And I hear you on the no insurance/no rotary

This sounded like a ball was rolling around inside.
