Question My new pads and backing plate?

I have just received my order of Excel and Lake Country pads. The excel pads are larger then the LC pads. The backing plate that came with the excel pads is smaller then the plate with the LC pads.

Is it normal for the LC backing plate to be almost the same size as the LC plate?

And backing plate on the Excel plate to be so much smaller then the pads.

I really hope the picture clears this up.

Hey Sean, haven't seen you around for a while.

I'd use the 5" BP for both sets of pads. If the 6" BP extends past the Velcro on the LC pads it will eventually "cookie cut" them. Don't know why they sell such a large BP with a small pad.
