PC 7424 and Pewter paint product questions and help

Hello,
I have a 99 Z28 and currently up in college so do not have time to really detail my car that often. I have used Zaino for the past year and mostly just rely on it in college because I don't have time to always redo my finish. Anyway, now to the goods, I would like to get a PC 7424 for Xmas and go to work on my finish as it is not in the best shape. My swirls are pretty horrible on the car and I really want the look that I get when it is cloudy and the paint looks awesome. Now of course I can't get that in the daytime, but I want something that will not look so cheesy during the day when the sun shines straight on the car.

I was thinking of perhaps starting with the PC 7424 and using Menzerna Intensive Polish on an orange pad then Menzerna Final Polish on a foam pad. Would this be a pretty good recipe of success for a Pewter car?

Also, which product can give a good shine and last a while. I like Zaino but I am open to new experiences with products.

I am sorry that I have questions but I am still kinda new to the high end side of detailing and am not really familiar with all the different pads and polishes. I am pretty open to just about any suggestions you'll may have. Thank you very much for your help and I appreciate anything you'll have to say.

Jason

What you have planned sounds pretty good. I haven't tried Zaino, but from what everyone says it has outstanding durability which is important since you can't detail your car all that much when you are at college. You may want to take a look at the Poorboy's line of products. To remove the swirls you can use SSR 2.5, and for some long lasting protection try EX-P topped with natty's. I'd say go for that if you are looking for something new.

Jason, you can not go wrong with the Menzerna products mentioned. Menzerna has good durability. Personally, I have been using Einszett polishes. Again, they are easy to use and have good durability. Good luck.
