I haven't tried the
Hydro-Tech pads, but according to different vendors, they are more emphasized on cut. They cut REALLY well, but with the ability to finish really well. The
Hydro-tech pads are versatile and take out the guessing from choosing the right pad for the job, but they do not allow for fine adjustments, in my opinion.
Since you are using ultra fine finishing polishes like P106FF and PO85RD, you should be looking at the Constant Pressure pads, which come in red and gold for jeweling.
If you are working with the rotary, you should consider
CCS pads. They tend to hop and wobble less than flat pads when used with a circular polisher, from my experience. If you want the flat pads, I suggest you get the constant pressure flat pads.
