Need a cheaper alternative to menzerna.

First of let me say that I love using Menzerna polishes, but maybe thats because it's all I've ever used.

When I was using Menzerna polishes on my own cars, cost wasn't an issue. However, now that I'm doing detailing on a more professional level the cost of supplies is getting a little high for me(college student).

I normally use Power Finish and Final Finish with a combination of LC CCS pads. I really like how I can use Power Finish on a green ccs pad for one-step details with amazing results.

I've been reading a lot about the Megs 105/205 combo. How does this compare to the Power Finish/Final Finish combination? I was looking into using the megs combo with the new Cyan/Tangerine LC Hydro-Tech Pads on my PCXP.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Need a cheaper alternative to menzerna.

Chris. I personally have not used the new Hydro Tech pads or the Megs 205 but i will say this.

If cost is a issue i might suggest factoring in on average how much Menzerna you use on a detail . . . . . it will vary but just average. Then take what you paid for the product and divide that by the ounces.

From there you should know that it takes say:

2oz on sm vehicles
3oz on med vehicles

etc . . . . and it will allow you to charge accordingly. I myself love Menzerna stuff. It has never let me down. You can usually find deals if you shop around a little bit. 105 works excellent and i'm sure 205 works great too from what i have heard.

It's all going to be what you like to use or what you feel comfortable using in the end.

There is no wrong or right choice there is what i would say.

Re: Need a cheaper alternative to menzerna.

Well I just went ahead and ordered the 105/205 combo. I still have a little power finish left and a full bottle of final finish. I'll try using this combo on a few cars to see how it compared to menz.
