Pad Diameter related to surface area treated

I have a pc that i have been using with some no name 5.5" pads and I'm wondering if I go with some 4" LC pads, would it be smart to use the smaller pads on the big areas like doors and hoods. I know that sounds complicated and a grammatical a mess but basically I'm asking should I use a 4" pad over the entire car, or should I save them for more compact areas and stick with the 5.5" pads for the bigger areas.

Re: Pad Diameter related to surface area treated

I am sure you are aware that the use of smaller diameter pads is to reduce DA bog down.

Although you will likely gain slightly quicker correction using a 4" pad, you wouldn't see a noticeable difference. You may notice a greater difference if you have the less powerful non-XP 7424.

With m y 7424XP I am able to achieve close to maximum rotation speeds with the 5.5" pad. Although I always reach maximum rotation speed, 5.5" pad doesn't bog down much.
