First time usage of UDM XP...

SO I just used the UDM XP for the first time.. this is my first DA buffer. I just used it to apply some Meguiars Gold Class Wax... I think I used toooo much wax b/c when I went to wash and clean the pad, there was SOO much wax left in the pad. I think I need to use a lot less b/c it was a waste of wax.. .any suggestions?
