Do I Need a Finishing Pad

I've done 3 cars now with my Makita rotary, each time I've thought I've done a perfect job but then found buffer trails once the car is in the direct sun. I've been finishing with 106ff and a white pad. Do I need to buy a lighter finishng pad. I can't remember what color those are, I think they're blue or black. Would this guarantee I wouldn't have buffer trails?

Black or blue. Guarantee, maybe. BTW I would use 85RD to finish down.
