i want a brush for wheels that will not destroy the paint finish on custom wheels. i had a detail recently that went almost the same way as the OP's. finished the car, car looked great. customer comes back a week later saying his wheels are scratched, i was like whoa buddy i didnt do anything but wash the wheels. they were only 2 months old according to him and they looked great. well come to find out he used a white brush he got from big lots and while he didnt damage the paint, he destroyed the wheels.

Finding a good BHB for wheels is easier than finding one for the rest of the vehicle (they're quite different types of brushes).

I use BHBs made for wheels from Griot's (with their smaller BHB made for dusting interiors for around the lugs), but there are some others that look at least as good. Check AutoGeek and, maybe search for recent posts on the subject by, uhm...maybe Eliot Ness, yeah I think that's who it was. He has a *very* nice looking one but I forget where he got it.

I bought the World's Greatest Boar's Hair Wheel Brush a few months back and I kick myself for not buying one sooner:
