machine polishing an airplane

My dad and I are getting ready to buy a Cessna 172 or 182. It will most likely be used, and I want it to look as good as possible. Does anyone have any experience detailing and polishing airplanes? Should I use the same polishes? Thanks

I have not worked with an airplane. That said, I have dealt with aircraft grade paint once. It is pretty tough stuff. I would look to something that you might use on PPG Ceramiclear. Menz SIP would be a good starting place.

Re: machine polishing an airplane

I've detailed a couple plains and it is a TON of work! A Hotsy, some sort of mild chemical cleaner (I used Meg's Body Solvent), and an AIO product should do the trick. I went with Meg's #66. Have fun and plan on at least one full 10-12 hour day.
