FLex Xc3401-What speeds R U using?

Hello all. I am curious to learn what speeds you guys are using with your FLex Orbital polisher. I will be honest and say that I almost always use Speed 6 when correcting, and maybe drop down to 5. Speed 3 when spreading the polish but then its usually right up to 5 or 6. I've read posts where people drop the speed to really pop the shine factor but I don't see how that works with an orbital? A rotary sure but what speeds do you guys find works best at leaving a perfect finish? and why?

Do you use a different speed for your final polish?

Do you drop your speed for your last pass? or increase it?

I´m also using it almost always at speed 6. Since I didn´t very much work with this machine I´m still figuring out. I think with this machine you can achive a good finish with a coarse compound like 1Z Pasta intensiv when worked till end followed with a polish/wax on a softer pad. This speeds up those dealerships details.

5-6 is fine... I use speed 2-3 to spread the polish then do multiple passes at speed 6... I might finish with a pass at speed 5 but that's just force of habit with the rotary haha

OK cool, nothing much different than what I've been doing. Just checking to see if anyone found a nice speed/Polish/Pad combo that they wished to share. Appears nothing at this point in time.

sure, you can use 1z pasta intensiv with a medium pad to lsp ready state or miced with wax as a single for std. details. for sure that concours details always need more steps but due to the da design, it leaves no holograms and a fine finish with only one step.

Same here for the most part. Although, I've been doing a little experimenting of not running it wide open for correction and keeping it between 5 and 5.5. Always gear down a little for plastic areas such as bumpers. Also, right before finishing a section, i'll apply very little pressure and just let it run at max rpm and opm for whatever speed I'm on, and then gear down to about a 4 for a final pass through.
