What are your favorite backing plates/pads for your Makita?

I'm picking up a Makita but was wondering which backing plates and pads are most popular.

Backing Plates:
Do the Meguiar's W-65 and W-64 work with the Makita or do I have to go with LC plates?

Pads:
In terms of wool, which would be the better route... the Edge wool system or LC?

Any input is appreciated!

Re: What are your favorite backing plates/pads for your Makita?

I believe Ferrol or Ferro(not sure of the spelling) makes the backplate for Meguiar's

Anyone know the correct spelling ?

If you bought your polisher in North America then it should fit "any" 5/8-11 UNC backplates. European machines use M14 threaded backplates.

Myself, I am trying to find myself some 3M backplates for cheap ...LoL
