Re: 4" LC CCS pads and PC
This backing plate.... 2-3/4 Hook & Loop Backing Plate
and this adaptor so it'll work with the PC... D.A Adapter 5/8" X 11
I do disagree about the bigger pads for finishing... Remember that even when you are using a finishing polish, your DA has *alot* of work to do. Finishing polishes have to work every bit as hard as medium polishes and compounds do to do their work. Using a smaller four inch pad, even for finishing, will give you better results on the PC than bigger pads.

I tend to agree with this and when I only had one DA (PC) once I started with 4" pads I just finished everything that way. I never really thought the 4" pads took me that much longer, even when applying an LSP.

Hey Supe, so do you finish with 6" Edge wool or 4" foam? Hehe. Lately I've been finishing with the blue 6.5" LC foam blue pads and Ultrafina and seem to achieve great results.

Me too. I just used the 4" white. I like the way the PC handles better with the 4". I don't think it takes any more time. In fact, I think it may take less time since (to me) it seems like the polish broke down faster with the smaller pads.

On customer cars, I usually finish with the finishing wool. If I have additional time, I'll use Edge 2k red wave foam and po85rd or FPII.

Must not have followed all of the links. Try this one for the flat 4" Spot Buff pads:
Lake Country Mfg., Inc.- Products - Spot Buff Pads
The first SPOT BUFF PAD link takes you to the CCS pads, from there you select TO SPOT BUFF PADS to find the flat ones.

I much prefer applying LSP w/ the 4" pads as I feel they spread the product a little thinner and seem to use less than the larger ones. One point I never see mentioned is the 4 inchers clean up a whole lot easier than the the 6 inch ones - dunk 'em in the sink w/ some Dawn, work the product out and rinse. The whole process takes just a few mins. for me. Bonus: after squeezing the water out, place on newspaper, press firmly and they're ready to go again, a + if only having two pads.

Re: 4" LC CCS pads and PC
just tried out the 4" ccs orange pads this weekend. They def. correct faster...I find it a bit more difficult to keep it level since the surface area is reduced. This may also happen because I am using a rotary backing plate with the DA adapter? Maybe i'm used to it yet....
