Ultimate Detailing Machine DAS

Bought my 1st DAS machine. Any pointers or feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
Been detailing cars for about 8 years now.......all by hand. Hoping this will speed things up and do a better job.

Re: Ultimate Detailing Machine DAS

using the udm will definitely be faster than by hand and will produce better results. The only bad thing is the vibration.

Re: Ultimate Detailing Machine DAS

Thanks for the feedback guys. I could only imagine the results with a UDM. Should cut my time I spend detailing cars in half......

Do most of you clay bar a car or do you let the machine somewhat clean the surface and make is smooth?? I only know how to clay bar a car by hand......anyone ever use a machine to claybar with??

Most of the time, the cars are gritty feeling(like the hoods/top of cars)when you run your hand across it. When I polish by hand I can't get it to be too smooth without claybarring. Does the UDM help this process and get the paint fairly slick? Sorry for the ?'s. I'm use to doing everything by hand. I've detailed about 200 cars in the last 7 years.

Can't wait to try out this DAS machine.

P.S. I have an 06 Charger that has some etched waterspot on the top of the car from when it was new. I can't seem to get them out. I tried a light cut polish and claybarring by hand but nothing seems to want to work. Wondering if this DAS machine will work wonders and get them out for me?? I'm tired of seeing them.

Re: Ultimate Detailing Machine DAS

Never heard of anyone using a Porter cable to clay a car.

Would be interesting to see though. Would have lots of water splattering everywhere

Re: Ultimate Detailing Machine DAS

Tried that clay pad for my porter cable and much preferred doing it by hand you have better control of the clay .Plus its faster by hand and you get into all spots that you would have to do by hand any way.You also have better feel by hand.
