Both are
German made workhorses that will easily take on whatever you bring upon them. After reading up on numerous reviews of the FLEX and viewing demonstration vids, I knew I had to have one! Just for clarification, the FLEX is a DA polisher and the FEIN is a rotary polisher, the latter being a very light one at that (5.1 lbs)!
You might ask why an polishing tool newbie like myself would need such a high-end rotary polisher. Well, they say that no matter how good a DA polisher is, a pro behind the handle of a rotary will outshine (pun intended) it any day of the week and at a faster pace. Not to mention, I'm a sucker for top notch tools. The FLEX should be able to handle even the worst condition paints so who knows if I'll even bother with the FEIN.
I got the whole shebang, 6.5" LC foam pad kit, microfiber bonnets, backing plates, orange pad, red pads, etc. I think I'm going to practice on the girl's car first or the folks' just to get a good feel for how these babies work. Also, their paints could definitely use a light polishing unlike mine which is pristine.
I'll keep you guys updated when I decide to break-in the FLEX. Any tips or suggestions?
